What chain and sprocket kit do you recommend for a 2009 KX 450 F?

  2. #2 by adamx117 on January 21, 2009 - 7:41 PM

I would recommend that you use a Renthal Chain and Sprocket Kit. You should purchase an O-Ring chain. This type of chain will last much longer because it has grease packed into the chain and stays much more lubricated. This way the sprockets will show less wear, and become “fish hooked” less quickly. Also as a side note Renthal has a good sprocket that is mostly aluminum but has a steel ring where the teeth are. Since steel is much stronger than aluminum this will give you the best of both worlds.

Recommended Gearing for the 2009 KX450F is
One tooth more on the rear sprocket.

    Hey Adam,

Can you tell me how to get the main seal back in behind the main bearing on a 2005 Kx 250. It took an hour to get it out but now I can’t get it back in. Any help would be appreciated.

    Troy ,
We should have not touched this seal and just put the engine back together. I would have suggested that. Since this is not what happened, you know what to do and we will be riding this weekend ( fingers crossed )

i just got a kx250f and after riding it on the motor side right by the water pump. there is a little hole that antifreeze leaks out not a lot like maybe a table spoon or too…is this like an over flow or normal or a problem?

Hey adam i have a 2003 yamaha yz 125 and i was wondering if the the suspensions are interchangeable with a yz450f with a few mods? thanks

    Hi,

Good question indeed. I have been having quite a few questions in this realm lately. As long as the forks are the same diameter, I don’t see a reason why they would not work. Have you called a local Yamaha dealer and inquired with them? They should be interchangeable as long as the diameter of the forks are the same. If not I think you would have to ensure that your tipple clamps can support the new diameter.

    Be safe and braaaap often!
